Anfield is a funny place to be at the moment. With the international break upon us, the Reds have been given time to breathe and regather themselves, with some even looking ahead to the summer window as Tutto Mercato have emerged with rumours linking Paulo Dybala to Merseyside.

Whilst plenty of football fans would do anything to see their supported club go big on a player like Paulo Dybala, not all of the Reds are entirely convinced. The article linking the Argentine to Anfield is hardly convincing. When translated to English it’s merely a 36-word statement claiming Liverpool have a strong interest, yet it really is hard to fathom Jurgen Klopp forking out for the Juventus man.
On Transfermarkt, Dybala has a valuation of £90 million, however, with just four goals and six assists in 25 Serie A appearances you’d be paying £22.5 million for every one of his league goals this season. Whilst on the face of things the 25-year-old looks a great catch, the stats just simply don’t add up. Then there’s the issue of wages and getting Dybala to fit the system, and the way he plays hardly fits the bill in Jurgen Klopp’s Gegenpressing 4-3-3 setup, making this one a no-go for most Kopites.

Depends on a few things for me. If Werner was available, he’d be cheaper than Dybala, is familiar with Keita (and likely Firmino), and really fits the system. If he’s NOT available, I’d consider Dybala, but not at the expense of adding further squad depth in key positions like LB

Whether it’s because the fans don’t rate Dybala or don’t see him as a tactical fit, they don’t believe the Argentine is Anfield bound, and will be keen to see who Klopp does go for when the summer comes around.
