Had Tottenham been able to capitalise on their late pressure and get one point, or even three, at Anfield yesterday then Mo Salah would have come in for pelters. As it was, he got away with most of it, but the Egyptian was at his woeful worst for most of yesterday afternoon, and his selfishness was picked up on by the home fans.

In typical fashion, the Kopites only started jumping on their man when they’d surrendered their lead at the 70th-minute mark. However, their complaints about Salah’s performance were more than well justified. Seeing as the ex-Roma man went another game without scoring it now means that eight games have gone by since he last managed to get on the scoresheet, and it’s telling.
Never has a player been desperate to force it more than Salah was yesterday and at times it was shambolic. When breaking in a two-on-one with Sadio Mane and Toby Alderweireld up with him, the 26-year-old failed to square the ball for what looked like a certain Mane goal, saw his shot blocked and then watched his side concede up the other end minutes later, and moments like that will not go unpunished as Salah continues to struggle for form.

The Kopites were fuming at times with Salah yesterday as they looked like playing with ten for periods, yet as long as they keep winning the majority of the complaints will be kept to a minimum.
