Liverpool fans have fumed after it was revealed that Jon Moss would take charge of the Reds’ FA Cup third-round tie against neighbours Everton at Anfield on Sunday.
The Reds will begin their domestic cup journey against the same side that they knocked out of the competition two seasons ago, where Virgil van Dijk scored a late winner during a 2-1 win on his debut to send the Toffees back across Stanley Park.
Moss was in charge when Sadio Mane was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Ederson against Manchester City back in 2017 as Jurgen Klopp’s side lost 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
He also sent off two Liverpool players in the Premier League last season. Jordan Henderson was given his marching orders by Moss against Watford and the same man dismissed James Milner against Crystal Palace.
