We at the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping that Andy Carroll can be a success at Liverpool and it seems he may get his chance after the Reds made plans to bring him back to Anfield this summer according to the Daily Mail.
Carroll is enjoying a fine end to his injury-hit loan spell at West Ham United this season and the Hammers are desperate to sign the England striker on a permanent basis this summer, however the East London club will not pay the £17 million that Liverpool want.
Reports this morning claim that Carroll’s advisors are in the process of securing a one-year lease on a house in the North West, hinting that the 24-year-old may well be on his way back to Anfield.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has openly stated that Carroll does not fit his style of football and seems happy to sell him, but with Luis Suarez banned at the start of next season Carroll could yet get his chance.
