Liverpool will be desperate to pick up where they left after the international break, having established themselves as title contenders under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds managed to secure a convincing 2-0 win over Fulham at Anfield prior to the international break, which has set them up nicely to kick on and force themselves into an even stronger position by Christmas. And, to make things even better, it appears as if Jurgen Klopp is eyeing a swoop, as according to Mundo Deportivo journalist Francesc Aguilar’s personal Twitter account (via The Sun), Liverpool are keeping tabs on Sebastian Walukiewicz.
Indeed, the 18-year-old has dazzled this season for Pogon Szczecin, impressing in 13 games in the top-flight.
Interestingly, Liverpool are believed to be monitoring Walukiewicz’s situation ahead of a potential January switch.
However, they do face stiff competition from the likes of Arsenal, Southampton and Barcelona.
Liverpool could do with bringing in another defender to provide cover at the back, with the youngster possibly being drafted in to replace Dejan Lovren, who has looked far from convincing in the side.
THE VERDICT:
The central defender has the potential to become one of the best central defenders in English football if he makes the move and continues to develop, with the foundations already in place over in Poland.
Liverpool have had to deal with Lovren’s inconsistencies over the years at Anfield, and with him struggling for minutes this season and still looking vulnerable, perhaps the Reds will offload him to make room for Walukiewicz.
