Currently sat as Chelsea’s closest competitors in the Premier League, Liverpool still look a little short of competing for the title but it’s something that can be fixed in January.
With top-scorer Sadio Mane away at the African Cup of Nations, Philippe Coutinho fighting his way back from injury and Daniel Sturridge having his very own bed in a Merseyside hospital, Liverpool need recruits to bolster their ranks.
In other areas of the squad, Liverpool aren’t quite up to scratch and Klopp’s side look far less frightening when compared to the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, all of whom have an abundance of stars.
Signing big names isn’t exactly Jurgen Klopp’s style but the German boss doesn’t need to adjust his ways in the transfer market as there are plenty of options out there that fit his system, with these two targets bolstering the squad immediately and in the long-term.

Quincy Promes
The 25-year-old Dutch winger was previously one of the most highly-rated young prospects in the Eredivisie but moved to Spartak Moscow.
This month, Liverpool have heavily been linked with a move for the winger and he’d certainly fill the void left by Sadio Mane’s absence.
Promes needs to move to a bigger league in European football if he is to seriously contend for a spot for Holland’s World Cup push over the next 18 months and Liverpool would certainly provide him with that option, whilst his arrival would increase the squad-depth at Klopp’s disposal.
Emil Forsberg
Another 25-year-old target for Liverpool, Emil Forsberg has excelled with the Bundesliga’s surprise package RB Leipzig this season and the Swedish ace has impressed on the wings for the side chasing history in German football.
However, Forsberg has been linked with an exit from the controversial German club and Liverpool could see the Swede as an alternative to Quincy Promes, or indeed sign them both to give their attacking options a tremendous boost.
