Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern agree with their former captain Jamie Carragher after The Express revealed the pundit urged Brendan Rodgers to bid at least £20 million for Swansea City’s Wilfried Bony.

The Reds endured a torrid time in front of goal at Manchester United at the weekend and after tearing United’s defence apart on numerous occasions, they just couldn’t take their chances beyond the excellent David De Gea.

So it is no surprise that Carragher has pleaded with Rodgers to table a multi-million bid for Bony who is the highest scorer in the Premier League in the calendar year 2014.

The Ivory Coast international has been clinical for Swansea City this season and this form has led to him being continuously linked with moves to Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Carragher said: “I hope Liverpool sign him (Bony).

“If Liverpool sign (Mario) Balotelli for £16m, Bony is worth £20m or £25m.

“I wish Liverpool got him this summer and I hope they’re looking at him in the future.”
