Brewster was an instrumental member of England’s successful side at the U17 World Cup last summer, scoring hat-tricks against the USA and Brazil in the quarter and semifinals, before scoring the opening goal in the final against Spain. It is unknown how long the talented teenager is set to be ruled out for.
Landlord’s Verdict: U18 boss Steven Gerrard will be extremely disappointed to lose his star man for the foreseeable future, with Brewster one of the most promising young players in the English game.
The wonderkid will surely come back stronger from this set-back, and will return with the intention of breaking into the Liverpool first-team in the next couple of years. A loan move next year to the Championship wouldn’t be the worst move for the youngster if opportunities at Anfield are limited, and the player could find his growth is accelerated playing consistent first-team football.
