The class act that is Guillem Balague is suggesting that there has been a genuine interest in the Trabzonspor striker Teófilo Gutiérrez.
Now we know that Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has ruled out the inward transfer of a striker this window but it would be optimistic to believe that the problem at White Hart Lane is going to solve itself.
Gutiérrez is 25 and a €7.1 million price tag makes the former Junior Barranquilla forward an affordable back up to whoever is left standing as their main striker come midnight tonight.
Birmingham have also scouted the Colombian and it is probably far more likely to see him end up at St Andrews as the main attraction.
