Wolverhampton Wanderers fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to challenge in the top half of the table next season. Although, everything could go wrong for the Midlands club if they fail to enjoy a successful few weeks.
Wolves were a force to be reckoned with in the last campaign as they dominated proceedings in the Championship and enjoyed some success in domestic cups.
However, they seem to have taken their foot off the gas in recent times as transfer movement has quietened down a little bit, with very little time left to secure any major signings.
Indeed, the Midlands club ideally need to bring in a couple more world-class players to stand any chance of challenging in the top half and maybe even pushing for a European spot.
So, here’s TWO things that could worry supporters…
Wolves have reportedly launched a club-record bid for Manchester City youngster Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Ukrainian impressed against Wolves in the Carabao Cup last season, and could definitely add a different dynamic to the Midlands club next season as a versatile player.
However, it’s believed that Zinchenko will make the final decision on whether the move goes through, so Wolves could miss out on bringing one of the most highly-rated players in English football to Molineux.
Ruben Neves was partnered with Romain Saiss during their title-winning campaign in the Championship last time out, but Nuno Espirito Santo has plans to use the Moroccan as a central defender next season in the Premier League.
So, Wolves simply must find Ruben Neves the perfect midfield partner to bring his game on even more next season.
Indeed, the Portuguese international established himself as one of the hottest topics in world football and is Wolverhampton Wanderers’ star man, so Nuno’s side would find it difficult to enjoy success in the next campaign if they fail to find him a partner.
