Lucas Alario would top-off Newcastle’s attacking improvements

Lucas Alario

Newcastle have become a lot harder to beat in recent weeks and that could leave them with a good chance of avoiding relegation again this season.

With a manager as good as Rafa Benitez in charge, Newcastle fans can be confident in the Spaniard and know that as long as they have him, they can continue their top flight stay.

Now that Mike Ashley has started putting some money back into the team, Newcastle may be able to continue that spending in the summer, when they look for more talented players.

Their new-look attack could be taking shape quite nicely and a player that would add even more to that is Bayer Leverkusen’s attacker Lucas Alario.

Alario, (who is valued at £15.3 million on Transfermarkt) would be a huge improvement on the current options Rafa Benitez has available to him.

Newcastle have again struggled for goals and have been too reliant on Salomon Rondon, something that could land them in a spot of bother if they fail to recruit him on a permanent basis.

Nevertheless and especially if they do keep him for longer than this season, Lucas Alario could be a very good partner for him, or alternatively if they two played separately as well.

The Argentinian striker has enjoyed a strong campaign so far, as he currently has eight goals to his name.

He was an expensive signing for the German side and it would take a good amount for them to part ways with Alario.

However, a move to the Premier League would surely an ambition for him, so Newcastle could be in good shape to steal him away. Alongside someone like Miguel Almiron, the South American could be a Geordie hero.
