Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly waiting for next season now as they think it is going to yield promotion.
At the start of this campaign, of course, they will have felt that the club were in with a chance of getting near the play-offs but things under Roberto Di Matteo soon began to turn sour.
Thankfully for them, though, Steve Bruce came in to help steady the ship and it now appears as though the men from Villa Park are going to be well placed for a promotion charge in 2017/18.
Indeed, they also have Dr. Tony Xia to thank for the work he has done in the boardroom and it certainly appears as though that the club are looking stronger under his stewardship.
Certainly, Xia does not appear to be finished with improvements yet, with him recently tweeting:
