Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting bogged down in James Milner’s contractual situation again after The Mirror revealed that he is set to reject another deal.
The former Leeds United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa man has been an inspirational figure in City’s team this season as the Citizens seem to be improving at the right time.
The most recent offer is a three-year deal which would see him earn £80,000-a-week but for once the issue is not the money, it’s the length of the deal instead.
Milner is demanding a four-year package as he wishes to spend the rest of his career at the Etihad Stadium.
But if the Premier League champions cannot offer him what he wants then he will look elsewhere as there a lot of clubs in England assessing his potential availability.
Despite Milner making his Premier League debut 13 years ago with Leeds, he just celebrated his 29th birthday last month.
And it is no shock to hear that the hard working midfielder is wanted by Liverpool and Arsenal as he still has so much to offer.
