On early Friday morning, quotes arose from Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho regarding his club captain Antonio Valencia.
The Ecuador international hasn’t featured for the Red Devils since their 1-1 draw with Wolves back in September, with injury keeping the right back out of their last four Premier League matches, and indeed their 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League last month.
Yet the 33-year-old appears to be on the road to recovery having posted a video to Instagram on Thursday of him lifting weights at the Aon Training Complex, captioned ‘Work work work’. Mourinho was asked about Valencia’s availability ahead of the game against Bournemouth on Saturday and mentioned the video, stating: ‘So the reason why he was in the gym was because he was injured so he couldn’t train with the team.’
He added: ‘So I think it looked like he was working really, really hard, and he was. But without the ball and without the team, so you can imagine that he is not selected because he is not ready.’
Mourinho: "Antonio Valencia put something funny on his Instagram. He says he 'work, work, work'. He should say he 'work, work, work alone because I am injured and cannot train with the team'." #mufc

Unsurprisingly, these recent comments from the United boss have provoked quite a response from Red Devils supporters on Twitter, with some feeling that Valencia’s days at Old Trafford are numbered…

Another fan feels that Diego Dalot can now get his chance if that was to be the case…
LOL, its obvious we've seen the last of Antonio Valencia in Man United shirt. Jose really…..ok give Dalot a chance in the first team now. @Elijahkyama @ericmufc9

While several supporters appear to be getting more frustrated at Mourinho as to how they feel he has handled the situation…
