One man who will be under a lot of pressure to perform is new Manchester United manager David Moyes and he will be desperate to put his own mark on the squad he has inherited from Sir Alex Ferguson. A name on his shortlist has been suggested by Mail Online who understand that the former Everton manager is ready to challenge Chelsea for the 17-year-old Luke Shaw this summer.
The Southampton left back has emerged as the next big thing from the south coast academy and he has yet to sign a professional deal with the club something he cannot do until he is 18, in July.
Moyes had looked at Shaw when he was still Everton boss and he wants to follow this up while at Old Trafford but interest from Chelsea may be hard to beat off with the youngster understood to be a Chelsea supporter and the Blues looking at him as a long-term replacement for England international Ashley Cole.
It’s sure to be a fiesty transfer battle as Moyes takes his first steps as United manager.
