After so much build up and expectation, the Red Devils duly failed to deliver in any form against Chelsea.
The Blues, led by Antonio Conte, looked unstoppable on Sunday – as they trounced United en route to a 4-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.
The gravity of that defeat is just beginning to sink in amongst the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern – but it would appear that it might take a little longer for some of Man Utd’s key stars.
As per a Tweet from Daily Telegraph journalist Jonathon Liew, he has indicated that it could be a particularly tough defeat to take for 3 often very successful Man Utd stars.
The defeat to Chelsea was, apparently, Mourinho’s worst defeat since 2010, Ibrahimovic’s worse since 2000 – and Paul Pogba’s worst defeat ever.

The trio of United stars are obviously very used to winning – but they’ve seemingly never come up against a Conte side in such good form before.
