The 25-year-old was stretchered off with a knee injury in his team’s 4-0 win over Brighton in August after a challenge on Adam Webster, as reported by the Daily Mail.
After undertaking surgery in early September, as per the Daily Mail, a recovery timeline of six months was reported by The Guardian, while a subsequent injury to John Stones left Manchester City so short on senior centre-back options that defensive midfielder Fernandinho has played six games in that role in recent weeks.
Laporte was named in the PFA Team of the Year last season and played 51 times as Pep Guardiola’s side won four domestic trophies, and these Manchester City fans on Twitter rejoiced at seeing his gym work video:
what a joy,so happy to see you back man. our defence will be rassured again.
