Manchester City fans have been given the news today by The Daily Mail that Micah Richards is considering his retirement at the end of the season as he continues to struggle with a knee problem. The former City man’s last game of football was in October 2016 and it looks like his career has run its course.

The fans all love Micah Richards, and in Manchester, the feeling for the defender couldn’t be more different than the feeling for him in Birmingham. During his time at Villa Park he’s turned up to collect his wages without doing much else, however, at City he was viewed as a really handy player and was key to the Sky Blues when they won the Premier League in the 2011/12 season.
What comes next for Micah Richards is still up in the air. There’s no douvting that the Citizens would love to see him make a return to The Etihad in some capacity as he’s still loved at the club. The 30-year-old was one of the most promising players to come through the club’s academy during their early years under the ownership of Sheikh Mansour, and if he can go full circle and return to the club as an ambassador or a coach, it would be music to the City fan’s ears.

The City fans would love to see Richards return to the club in some capacity in his retirement and are all gutted that his career has ended on such a sour note at Villa Park.
