Manchester City has held a meeting with the agent of Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele. The France ace is the reigning Ballon d’Or winner after his part in PSG’s Champions League triumph last season.
Dembele scored 33 goals and provided 15 assists across all competitions last season for PSG in what was a historic campaign for the club and player. He has long been linked with a move to England, and The Sun has now reported that such a move could already be in the works.
Manchester City sporting director Hugo Viana has reportedly held a meeting with Dembele’s agent Moussa Sissoko in Madrid in midweek. City were defeated 3-0 by Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16.
Dembele himself was in Paris as he scored and led his side to 5-2 victory over Chelsea in their clash. The meeting is believed to informal while laying the foundation for a potential summer move to the Etihad.
The player is under contract at the Parc des Princes until 2028, but so far talks over an extension have stalled.
City keen on Dembele

Dembele has carried his form into this season, bagging 12 goals despite an injury ravaged pre-season. City are gearing up for an overhaul in the summer, with both incoming and outgoings expected.
Long term servant Bernardo Silva has confirmed he will depart the club when his contract expires in the summer, while uncertainty remains over the futures of Mateo Kovacic, Savinho, and Omar Marmoush. On loan midfielders Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips are also expected to seek permanent moves away.
City Sporting Director Hugo Viana joined the club at the start of last summer after success with his previous club Sporting Lisbon. Viana was instrumental in Sporting’s recruitment of Viktor Gyokeres, Ousmane Diomande, Pedro Porro (from City at the time), Manuel Ugarte, Marcos Edwards, and Raphinha among others.
He now has his sights set on Dembele as the next major transfer coup for City following January’s signing of Antoine Semenyo.
