According to The Telegraph journalist Jason Burt, via Sports Illustrated, Manchester City are ‘closely monitoring’ RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann as a direct successor to Pep Guardiola, with many supporters pleading for such an appointment.
Nagelsmann, who has guided Leipzig through successive Champions League qualification campaigns, reaching the semi-finals last season, is now being tipped as a potential heir to Guardiola with City keeping tabs.
City defender Angelino has thrived under the coach at Leipzig, scoring a brace for the Germans in their opening Champions League group stage win over Istanbul Basaksehir.
With the manager now linked with a potential job at the Etihad Stadium, many Sky Blues have voiced their approval over his potential appointment, with some claiming he is the ‘only candidate‘ and ‘best replacement’ for Guardiola.
