Making an announcement on Twitter, Manchester City have confirmed that work will begin this summer to install 5,620 rail seats in the lower South Stand at the Etihad Stadium – prompting many Sky Blues to go wild as this ‘excellent news’ is announced.
Persistent standing occurs in the lower tiers of the Etihad’s South Stand during matchdays in normal circumstances, and as the government plan to steadily ease the return of supporters after the coronavirus pandemic, the club are making preparations for next campaign.
As announced on social media, Man City have confirmed their plans to install rail seats in the South Stand this summer to enhance safety for supporters whilst also preparing for any future legislation brought forward by the Premier League in regards to safe standing.
