Manchester United: Many fans believe Jose Mourinho wants Scott McTominay at Spurs

Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Spurs will have left a sour taste in Jose Mourinho’s mouth, and his comments after the game suggest he wasn’t so pleased with his team’s attitude. He said: “The way we come to the game by the emotional way, they had more emotion than us, you see for example [Scott] McTominay performance, the globality of his performance, he was dominant” (quotes via the Manchester Evening News).

The compliment for McTominay was then echoed by the MEN who rated him an 8/10 and described his passing as “purposeful”, and his overall midfield performance as having “silk and steel”. The 22-year-old has come into his own this season in the league, having started 13 of the 15 games so far, even netting three times in the process.

United news aggregator United Xtra posted Mourinho’s quotes on Twitter, and the club’s fans were quick to react to the compliment of their youngster. They clearly believe that their old manager has his sights on tempting the Scot to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer.
