Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe put in a solid performance against Astana in the Europa League last night, just five days after making his first appearance of the season against Leicester City last weekend.
Although the 21-year-old’s cameo against the Foxes was minimal after he came off the substitutes’ bench for the last minute of Saturday’s game, plenty of Red Devils fans are now excited about what the future holds for their young centre-half.
Last night, Tuanzebe put in a mature performance for United, keeping a clean sheet alongside Phil Jones in the heart of defence as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men beat Astana 1-0 in the Europa League.
After the match, Tuanzebe drew praise from Solskjaer.
“Axel was very assured out there,” said the Norwegian. “He was in cruise control as well. Delighted for him.
“It’s a few years since he played for us here at Old Trafford, and he played really well and just confirmed what we already thought we knew.”
