Manchester United fans are sarcastically applauding the club after recent reports surrounding their on-loan man Alexis Sanchez.
According to the Daily Mail, there is no release clause in the deal with Internazionale, with the Italian side continuing to pay half of Sanchez’s £300,00 per week basic salary
The news comes after the Chilean suffered a dislocated ankle while on international duty in Chile’s 0-0 draw against Colombia at the weekend. If he requires surgery on his ankle, Sanchez could be out until the new year for Antonio Conte’s side.
Sanchez has enjoyed a mixed start to life with the Serie A club this campaign. He’s scored one goal and assisted one in just four games across the league and Champions League. However, he was also sent off in the club’s 3-1 win over Sampdoria for two bookable offences (via Transfermarkt).
After the revelation of the lack of a release clause in the deal with Inter, fans took to Twitter to sarcastically celebrate the news.
