Manchester United have set a huge asking price for midfielder Paul Pogba, according to AS via Sports Witness.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is said to be keen on signing the Frenchman; however, the club has accepted that it could be very difficult after the asking price set.
As well as Real Madrid’s prolonged efforts to sign Pogba, the club have told the midfielder to stay quiet about a possible exit, saying anything said could further complicate their efforts to sign him.
Pogba has been very vocal about his future at Manchester United, saying he wanted to leave the club while away on a promotional tour in Japan back in June.
Last season showed that Pogba was Manchester United’s best creative force from midfield, which makes the 26-year-old a key component for Manchester United.
The France international finished with 16 goals and 11 assists, as he finished as Manchester United’s top goalscorer and best creator last season. However, despite the seemingly strong season, he didn’t escape criticism from legend Roy Keane, who questioned his commitment.
Despite all the positives surrounding Pogba, Manchester United should sell the former Juventus man to the highest bidder.
It remains to be seen if the reports are true; however, Pogba was said to de a disruptive influence in the dressing room last season.
After Jose Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United, Pogba was said to have ‘celebrated’ the departure of the Portuguese manager. To have such a player in the dressing room sends the message that a player can be bigger than the manager if the reports are to be believed.
Pogba is clearly a hugely talented midfielder, however, after problems over his behaviour and attitude, last season, selling the Frenchman would be the best thing for Manchester United.
