Manchester United fans here in the Tavern are already looking forward to next season having been delighted to see manager Jose Mourinho already making big moves in the transfer market.
The signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred is the big capture of note so far, and it will be interesting to see if United rest on their laurels or continue to plough the market as they look to close the gap on rivals City going into next season.
Our landlord would personally like to see the Red Devils keep at it, and he thinks splashing the cash this summer can send a big message to their neighbours, as well as make the Premier League title race just that little bit more exciting next season.
One player he thinks the club should be going all out to sign is Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen, who is valued at a whopping £72m by Transfermarkt.
Eriksen has been a standout player in the Premier League over the last few seasons, and notched double figures in both goals and assists last season as he once again drove Spurs to Champions League qualification.
Classy on the ball and having that priceless knack of being able to unlock even the tightest of defences – something he has shown time and time again so far during his time with Spurs.
United do already have a plethora of talent available in attacking areas, but Eriksen can add that little bit more quality to the Red Devils’ attacking threat. The thought of Eriksen linking up with the likes of Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, and Alexis Sanchez, should be a mouth watering prospect for United fans.
Red Devils, what do you think to Erisken? Would he fit in well at Old Trafford? Let us know!
