Mass exodus: West Brom’s relegation will trigger release clauses of three key players – report

West Bromwich Albion fans in the Transfer Tavern will be bracing themselves for a difficult time during the summer transfer window and recent reports will not have eased any of those fears.

The Baggies are set to be relegated from the Premier League this season and they will almost certainly lose a number of their stars in the process due to release clauses in their contracts, and it has been revealed that three players will be able to leave the Hawthorns for cut-price deals.

The Daily Mail are claiming Jonny Evans, Salomon Rondon and Nacer Chadli will all be available for clubs to purchase for nominal fees, and a number of teams are already rumoured to be interested. It is believed the Northern Ireland defender will spark a war between the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal, whilst others could seek to sign the Venezuelan attacker to boost their threat going forward.

The Belgian playmaker – who joined from Tottenham Hotspur in 2016 – was subject to a number of bids from Swansea City last summer and, although the Baggies had hoped they would receive around £25 million for his services, the Daily Mail suggest that his release clause is £17 million.

Landlord’s Verdict

The West Brom fans in the Tavern will be worrying about their future and will be concerned that a handful of quality players look set to depart the Hawthorns,  so their time in the Championship could be even more difficult than originally anticipated.
