Matteo Darmian has been shut out at Man Utd by Jose Mourinho thus far, but according to Calcio Mercato – he could have been given a lifeline by the Portuguese boss.
Calcio Mercato are reporting that following the injury to Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian looks set to be given a chance in the Premier League – as he was against Burnley last weekend.
What’s more, they add that Mourinho still feels that he can be a significant member of the Man Utd first team – and should he perform well in the absence of Antonio Valencia, Darmian could find his career revitalised.
This comes as a surprise to the Man Utd fans in the Tavern, given that many felt that the defender’s career was likely over.
Our landlord thinks that Darmian can still be a top player – he just needs to be given an opportunity by Jose Mourinho.
Darmian has made just 1 Premier League start so far this season, and he will no doubt be hoping that that number will increase in the coming weeks.
The Italian has also been joined by Bastian Schweinsteiger in training this week, who like Darmian, has been thrust to the side by Jose Mourinho so far this season.
