Bitter rivals Rangers are set to appoint Pedro Caixihna as their next gaffer but it’s safe to say the Portuguese isn’t exactly a household name in England, having only held down managerial posts in his homeland, Mexico and the Middle East throughout his career.

And Caixihna has already committed perhaps the biggest blunder possible before even being officially announced as the new Ibrox boss; a video from his time as manager of Santos Laguna, one of the Bhoys’ affiliate clubs, has surfaced online, with the 46-year-old describing Celtic as his ‘brothers’.

That’s already created quite the storm on social media and to make matters worse, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has now given his verdict – or rather, lack of – on his incoming Ibrox counterpart. When asked to comment on Caixihna, the former Liverpool gaffer simply replied; “I’ve never heard of him.”
That’s had Celtic drinkers in the Transfer Tavern howling with laughter all day and feeling especially confident about the Old Firm derby on Sunday.
If Celtic beat Rangers and Aberdeen lose to Motherwell, the Bhoys will have all-but mathematically secured the Scottish title; Aberdeen will only be able to match their points haul by the end of the campaign, but Celtic’s goal difference is superior by a whopping 31.
