Newcastle United could be about to finally welcome a few new signings to St James’ Park this summer as Rafa Benitez continues to work hard for recruits.
The Magpies have already signed Martin Dubravka, Kenedy and Ki Sung-yueng to bolster their ranks as they look to remain competitive in the Premier League.
It is understood that Benitez has a number of targets on his radar and it appears that the club could be about to complete a double swoop in the coming days.
The same report states that Schar has already completed a medical and is expected to be announced by the club later today after his £3m release clause was met, allowing him to leave Deportivo La Coruna.
The Verdict:

Newcastle are finally starting to make inroads with their recruitment drive this summer and it looks as though Benitez is finally being backed with some money.
Schar is a deal that already looks over the line and the 26-year-old Swiss international, who also represented his country at this year’s World Cup, would be a solid addition to help bolster their back line alongside Jamaal Lascelles.
Muto would be a smart signing as well this summer as the club are looking for a goalscorer and the Japanese striker could help to ease the pressure on the likes of Dwight Gayle and Ayoze Perez to find the back of the net constantly.
