Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin is reportedly close to signing for Turkish club Besiktas on a free transfer, according to Sky Sports.
As per the outlet, the 27-year old only has a year left remaining on his current deal at St James’ Park and could leave for free in the next summer transfer window anyway, but it looks as if the Tynesiders would like to get him off of their books as soon as possible at the risk of not receiving a transfer fee for him.

Indeed, Yedlin has racked up plenty of appearances for the Tyneside club, playing a total of 116 times in the last five consecutive season, as he managed to score three goals and provide a further 10 assists (per Transfermarkt).
The £5.85m-valued ace has also earned an impressive 62 caps at international level for the USA since his full senior debut back in February 2014 under Jurgen Klinsmann, and he has also represented the United States three times at youth level for the under-20s (via Transfermarkt).
Yedlin certainly has pedigree, but with the likes of Javier Manquillo and Emil Krafth also available in the right-back role in the northeast, perhaps his time with Newcastle would be limited this season, and so maybe it is time to move him on.

While it would be a bit of a blow not to get some sort of transfer fee for him, if it means removing his wages from the bill and freeing up space in the squad, then perhaps it is a deal that NUFC should look to do before the market closes.
