Many Newcastle United fans have been discussing a tweet from Christian Atsu as he posted an image of himself with some of his teammates with the caption ‘back to work’ on his official Twitter page.
The picture featured Miguel Almiron, Joelinton, Yoshinori Muto and a rather glum-looking Andy Carroll in the background.
Indeed, players from the Tyneside club are set to return in small groups to the team’s training ground this week as they begin their preparations for the proposed resumption of the 2019/20 Premier League season, as per the Magpies’ official website.
Based on the latest government advice, and following a top flight shareholders meeting, the Toon’s players will begin phase one of their return to small group training. Players, coaches and essential support staff have now been tested for the global pandemic at the training ground in conjunction with England’s highest division by global genomics health business Prenetics.
