Newcastle fans have shown no mercy in criticising Christian Atsu’s performance against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup on Wednesday.
The Magpies slipped to a 3-1 loss to the Championship outfit at The City Ground, to prolong Newcastle’s poor start to the 2018/19 season.
In a game with a lot of bad performances, Christian Atsu (valued at £5.4m on Transfermarkt.co.uk) was one of Newcastle’s worst, making almost no impact on the game and frequently losing the ball.
The former Chelsea man has not featured a lot under Rafa Benítez so far this season, and his performance yesterday will not do him any favours when it comes to making a start again.
However, it is unfair to solely criticise Atsu, with many fans also being quick to blast Chelsea loan Kenedy for an equally abysmal display.
Newcastle head to Man City on Saturday, with fans hoping that they will see their side put in a more spirited performance against the champions.
