Newcastle: Fans excited by Paco Alcacer links

Newcastle United fans have been reacting to reports that the club could look to bring Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer to St James’ Park.

Manager Steve Bruce has promised to the Spanish forward that he will play regular first-team football at St James’ Park, in a bid to lure him to Tyneside, according to The Sun. Alcacer has concerns that he will not feature in Euro 2020 due to a lack of opportunities at Signal Iduna Park, as per the Express.

The Magpies will go head to head with Alcacer’s former club Valencia for his signature and could have the option to buy the Spain international for £25m once his loan spell ends. The 26-year-old has scored five goals in 11 Bundesliga appearances this season but has found himself lower down the pecking order in Germany of late due to the arrival of teenage sensation Erling Haaland, who scored a hat-trick on his debut. Supporters were ecstatic about the report and made their feelings clear on social media.
