Newcastle: Fans furious as transfer target Jarrod Bowen set for London switch

Many Newcastle fans have expressed their disgust over the club missing out on Jarrod Bowen, despite submitting a £20m offer for him this week (as per Football Insider).

Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope tweeted (via @CraigHope_DM) that Crystal Palace have agreed a fee of £16m plus add-ons for the Hull forward, with the development ruefully shared by @NUFC360 on Twitter.

The 23-year-old winger has been in excellent scoring form this season for the Tigers, with 17 goals in 32 appearances in total this term and 16 goals in the Championship, making him the division’s third highest scorer so far in 2019/20. He now looks to be heading for West Ham, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, so it appears it’s London or bust for the Hull City starlet.

Albeit that he is playing one division lower than Newcastle, Bowen has scored more than three times as many goals in the current campaign as the Magpies’ leading scorer Jonjo Shelvey (five) and almost 50% more than the combined total of Shelvey, Miguel Almiron and Matthew Longstaff, the three highest scorers for Steve Bruce’s side this season.
