Newcastle United: Fans hail takeover claim from Jason Burt

Some Newcastle United fans have hailed a claim on the prospective takeover in the northeast from Jason Burt after he shared his views on his official Twitter page.

The Daily Telegraph journalist responded to a story from The Guardian, which suggested that the proposed deal for the Tyneside club is in serious doubt after the World Trade Organization (WTO) ruled that the pirate television channel beoutQ is from Saudi Arabia.

The TV channel also has a streaming service that offers illegal access to sporting events, including broadcasts of games in the Premier League, which will likely not go down well with the top flight.

However, Burt has calmed several members of the Toon faithful with his verdict, first claiming that the writer of the article Sean Ingle is an excellent reporter and Burt’s latest understanding is that he still expects the bid from the Saudi-led consortium to eventually go ahead but admitted that he has rarely dealt with a situation as complicated as this one.

Agreed, I believe this document was a bump in the road but does not form part of the test. Plus it would be very difficult for the PL to become a court and deny a buyer when this has been through a court already, regardless of any new ‘evidence’.
