Newcastle fans on social media say their final farewells to Mbemba

This summer has been one that the Newcastle fans on Twitter have struggled to get excited about and now that the club sold Chancel Mbemba the fans are even more depressed with their business. A lot of fans feel that the Congolese centre-back never got given a fair chance on Tyneside and now he’s joined Porto they’ll never see him grow into the player they all wanted.

Whilst the fans are all sad to see Mbemba leave the club, they all agree that Rafa Benitez knows best and they’re happy to get behind any decision that their Spanish gaffer makes, including this one to cash in on Mbemba. The Magpies will be hoping the funds from this sale will be put towards bringing some players into St James Park this summer, although none of the fans are optimistic of that.

This summer is already looking like a disaster for the fans and as Rafa Benitez continues to barter with clubs, wheeling and dealing for bargains, the fans continue to wonder what this means for the upcoming season. For the most part, last season was successful and the club did superbly well to finish 10th, now though, it looks like survival will be deemed as a success given the lack of resources available to Benitez.
