Newcastle United’s desperate need for a striker is well documented. At the moment, the man at St James Park who knows where the goal is seems to be Salomon Rondon, and he can’t bear the weight of the goalscoring burden alone. That being said, though, the fans are keen to avoid signing Mbaye Diagne, who they’re linked with by TuttoMercatoWeb.
#NUFC are interested in signing Senegalese international striker Mbaye Diagne. He's currently in Turkey with Kasimpasa where he has netted 20 goals in 17 Super Lig appearances. A fee of €10m would secure his services. [TuttoMercato] pic.twitter.com/3OkXPpfcfO

The 27-year-old striker has only ever played in the Chinese, Turkish, Hungarian and Belgium top divisions, so to throw him into Premier League action would be a huge step up, even if he has scored an incredible 20 goals in 17 Super Lig games for Kasimpasa this season. The Senegalese striker would need time to adjust to the Premier League, and wouldn’t be the short-term option the Geordies’ need.
Diagne could easily follow in the footsteps of a umber of failed strikers at Newcastle United. The likes of Seydou Doumbia, Islam Slimani, Joselu and Luuk De Jong have all flopped at the club, and if they were to shell out a massive £10 million for Kasimpasa’s in-form hit man. The Geordies would be better to look for someone who already has Premier League experience and save themselves the worry of having yet another expensive flop on their hands.

You do realise that by posting endless rumours which are untrue and won’t happen due to there being a fee you’re just riling fans?

I would rather have Defoe at least he scores goals in the premier league

The Geordies are desperate for a goalscorer, but would rather get someone proven than take a punt on an unheard of Senegalese striker from the Turkish league.
