Newcastle fans on Twitter buzzing for impending Lejeune return

Newcastle fans could one day look back on this month as a huge one. Not only could they get the huge news of Mike Ashley selling the club, but they could also see the return of Florian Lejeune, who has come on leaps and bounds since injury his anterior cruciate ligament just four months ago.

Defender @lejeune_florian will make his comeback for Newcastle's under-23s against @NorwichCityFC's second-string tonight. The Frenchman suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury just over four months ago.

The news of Lejeune’s return is certainly positive and the fans will be excited for him to get back onto the pitch and show what he can do. The Frenchman formed a rock-solid partnership with Jamaal Lascelles last season and whilst the scene has changed defensively at St James Park with Rafa Benitez preferring new signings Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez over his skipper in the last few weeks.

However, the 27-year-old is a rock at the back and he’s done more than enough in his time at the club to give Rafa Benitez selection headaches when he returns. If anything, the only position that the Magpies don’t need to show some TLC is at the back, meaning that Benitez can rely upon Lejeune can come in to sure up his backline and hopefully get in some reinforcements to bolster his attack and midfield in the upcoming January window.
