Newcastle United put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone last night after they beat Burnley 2-0 at St. James’ Park.
A stunning strike from central defender Fabian Schar and a first Premier League league goal for Sean Longstaff helped secure all three points for the Magpies in what was a very professional performance by the team.
Since then, both goalscorers have come in for praise with Schar winning a load of plaudits particularly after his Man of the Match display.
To go with his goal, Schar put in some solid work at the back, while his form overall of late has also been impressive after the 27-year-old initially made a slow start to life at St. James’ Park.
Schar, though, now looks settled on Tyneside and is looking like a very good piece of business done by Rafael Benitez.
