The Newcastle fans on Twitter who have been scouring the internet for some inside knowledge on they’ll be signing this summer aren’t convinced by links to Michail Antonio. The West Ham man has a bad injury record and with the Hammers looking to cash in for £10 million, it looks like Mike Ashley will look elsewhere.

Newcastle look destined to sign Andros Townsend this summer and could be selling Matt Ritchie to fund that deal. The fans thought this summer would be a much better one for them as they were made to believe that funds would be made available for them to use in the pursuit of a number of key players. However, it looks like it will be same old same old for the Magpies who aren’t used to getting good news during transfer windows.
If anything, at least the fans are realistic about their chances of getting certain players and Antonio is one of those. The Geordies don’t seem to interested by their club’s pursuit of the versatile forward and with his fee making up what would be a large chunk of their transfer budget it just seems to make sense for the club to take a pass on the West Ham forward.
