Newcastle fans have long been calling for their young Danish striker, Elias Sorensen to be given a run in the senior squad by Rafa Benitez. The youngster is yet to feature for the first-team squad, however, he reached a milestone in his international career when he was won his first cap, and scored his first goal, for Denmark’s U21 side.
U21 debut! 1st goal and 1st win! What a day https://t.co/nyiXxEgEyd

The young goal-getter started for Denmark’s age group side as they faced Mexico’s U21s, and his goal was enough to give the Danes a 1-0 win in what was a day that the striker will never forget. The next step will be to step up to the Magpies’ senior side and play his way into his country’s senior squad, although that certainly won’t be easy.
Whenever the Newcastle U21s take to the field, the fans expect to come away with a win and a couple of goals for their Danish wonderkid, so they can’t work out why Benitez has been so reluctant to use the 19-year-old striker, even if he does just give the youngster 20 minutes to stretch his legs in the FA Cup. For now, though, the youngster’s wait for a senior debut continues.

The Danish U21 international will surely be used by Benitez sooner or later, and the fans will be delighted when he finally gets his chance at St James Park.
