Newcastle fans on Twitter really want to see an Ayoze Perez goal

Newcastle United are starting off their Premier League campaign today and they’ll be backing themselves to get off to a flying start against Tottenham Hotspur at St James Park. Before the game, Ayoze Perez took to Twitter to thank the fans for their support and they all had the same response: score a goal, Ayoze.

The young Spanish support striker finished last season as the Magpies top scorer and he’ll be desperate to repeat that feat this season, despite the fact he might have tougher competition this time around in the form of Salomon Rondon and Yoshinori Muto, new arrivals from Mainz and West Brom. However, it will be a tough opener hosting Spurs, who finished 3rd last season, and getting a draw wouldn’t be a bad result.

For this one, Ayoze will be starting up front with fellow Spaniard, Joselu. The Spanish pair will be looking to open their Premier League accounts for the 2018/19 season and if they can do that then they’ll be well placed to help Newcastle avoid relegation and kick on to try and match or better the 10th placed finish that they impressively managed to achieve last season.
