Plenty of Newcastle United fans have been reacting to an update on the prospective takeover in the northeast by Luke Edwards as he shared his thoughts on his official Twitter page.
As per the Daily Telegraph reporter, there has been no official or unofficial notification from the Premier League given to anyone currently involved in the running or ownership of the Tyneside club that they are going to give the proposed takeover the green light. He added that mainly nothing has changed yet, as the deal remains ‘imminent’.

Indeed, the bid from the Saudi-led consortium, headhunted by the country’s crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) and backed by his Public Investment Fund (PIF), has not officially been fully approved as of yet, as an official announcement needs to be made by the Magpies.
Nonetheless, if the takeover of the club does eventually go through, then it will effectively end current owner Mike Ashley’s reign of 13 years.

So don’t use the word imminent.. That suggests it’s today or tomorrow at the latest and we all know this will drag into next week.
