Loads of Newcastle United fans have slammed a takeover view from Conservative MP Karl McCartney as he has called on his own government to stop ‘dodging’ the alleged Saudi Arabian involvement in piracy.
As per PA Sport (via Jamie Gardner), the MP has called to block, or at least delay, the prospective takeover in the North East, but the government has said that the final word lies with the Premier League.
Indeed, the Saudi-led consortium must first pass the owners’ and directors’ tests set out by the league before there is any chance that the deal will go through but, given recent concerns about the country’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), this may prove to be a difficult task.
Nevertheless, it seems as if McCartney is trying to take matters into his own hands, but whether he gets anywhere with his pleas is another question.

These members of the Toon faithful on Twitter slammed his view:
I hope Karl's knows that the #nufc Twitter detectives will now find all the skeletons in his closet. He will hopefully regret making such a daft comment and grow up.
