Newcastle fans take to Twitter to slam officials after late Willy Boly equaliser

Newcastle fans yesterday were left dismayed and frustrated when they conceded a late goal which sent them back to Newcastle with just one point after a spirited display. However, they’re fuming over the late goal, as it came after the four minutes of added time that was added, and they’re all blaming the referee Graham Scott.

Whilst the Newcastle United Twitter account has got the goal down as being in the 93rd minute, Sky Sports and plenty of others have got the time right as it actually went in after 95 minutes. As you can imagine, that’s left the Geordies fuming at why the game continued to go on even though all of the added time had been played.

The reasoning for it though will be because Rafa Benitez opted to make a late substitution as he brought Ayoze Perez off for Javier Manquillo in the 91st minute. That change will have forced Scott into adding on a further minute to counteract Benitez’s efforts to run down the clock. However, the Magpies are having none of it and will be fuming with the result until they can get another win under their belts.

The Geordies cannot understand how the referee had let the game go on, however, when they look at it with some perspective they’ll understand that Graham Scott made the right call.
