Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see what their side does in the Premier League next season with them going up as champions from the Championship.
After a closely fought title battle with Brighton it was the men from the north east who came out on top on the final day which was suitably dramatic.
Now, though, the real hard work begins with the Magpies certainly needing a good few players to come in if they are to stay in the Premier League and compete.
And, as we wait to see who is signed, the rumours have already begun with The Daily Mail reporting that James McCarthy is a target of the Tyneside club.
The Irish international has not had anywhere near as much game time as he would have liked for the Toffees this season, for sure, and could be tempted by a move away if minutes are assured.
Newcastle, then, could swoop as they plan for 2017/18.
