Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are seriously hoping to see their side sign some good players before the end of the window.
The Magpies have had a really poor time of things with Rafa Benitez evidently frustrated by the fact that Mike Ashley doesn’t seem to have offered him much help financially this year.
For sure, that is something that the club will need to review once the window shuts but for now they need to salvage something and we think that they should go after a familiar face – Loic Remy.
The French forward is almost certainly not going to play for Chelsea this season once again and must be surely eager to just play football with him only having a few years left at the top.
Indeed, in assessing his career so far he’d probably come to the conclusion that his loan spell at Newcastle was his most successful in this country and so a return to Tyneside would surely be of appeal.
For sure, Newcastle would probably welcome him back with open arms with them desperately needing more Premier League quality throughout their side and having a Remy type forward would suit Benitez’s tactics down to the ground.
A similar player to Dwight Gayle but with that extra bit of clinical finishing, it could just be time to call on an old face.
