Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to being back in the Premier League but they’re certainly not sure about one particular story doing the rounds.
The Magpies finally sealed their promotion with a win over Preston on Monday cuing wild scenes here by the bar amongst their fans and also sparking great debate over who would come in during the transfer window.
Indeed, many feel that the club needs to sign quite a few players to compete back in the top flight but when they read Calciomercato’s latest report they really were not best pleased.
Certainly, it is of the Italian outlet’s belief that the men from Tyneside are going to try and re-sign Moussa Sissoko from Spurs – a year after they let him go to White Hart Lane.
This, of course, comes as a shock with Sissoko’s departure widely celebrated by the Newcastle fans and because of the fact that he has been very poor for Spurs this season.
For sure, then, this is a story many Newcastle fans do not want to see come to pass.
