Newcastle: Toon Army reacts to Magpies’ social media post

Newcastle United (per their official Twitter account) shared pictures of the latest first-team training session ahead of the clash with Southampton at the weekend which provoked merciless ribbing from a portion of the Toon Army.

The Magpies are preparing for a game away at St Mary’s in what could prove to be a decisive fixture. Indeed, with Steve Bruce’s side sitting just 2 points behind the Saints but only 5 points clear from the drop zone, it’s an important game in looking to guarantee Premier League survival (WhoScored).

While a few fans identified players like Joelinton and Jonjo Shelvey, some supporters took issue with a certain missing figure.

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce was nowhere to be seen and as expected this didn’t go down well with several fans.

One fan even compared Bruce’s notable absence to former boss Rafa Benitez.
